In December 2017, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) issued a consent order directing the Niagara Falls Water Board (NFWB) to undertake numerous engineering evaluations to improve the Niagara Falls Wastewater Treatment Plant (NFWWTP) operations. As a result of this, $27 million dollars in projects are being implemented at the plant. The work is being designed by multiple engineering firms. JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD), is subconsulting to several design firms, including AECOM and OBG.
JMD was responsible for the following tasks:
Project 1 – Sedimentation Basin Upgrades
Project 4 – Granular Activated Carbon/Filter Support Gravel Replacement
Project 9 – Replacement of Sludge Pipes
