Amherst SWPPP Inspections

JM Davidson Engineering, D.P.C. (JMD) is contracted by the Town of Amherst to assist the Town with periodic Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections at development projects of various sizes throughout the town.  The inspections are required under Minimum Control Measure 4 of the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES)General Permit GP-0-15-003, which regulates Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) entities. 

The inspections are performed for all development projects within the town at various stages of construction.  At least nine inspections are conducted at each site from the project kick-off to the final close out.  

The work performed includes:

  • Conduct SWPPP inspections including investigating condition of erosion control measures, review of all documents required per the SWPPP, inspect condition of post-construction stormwater control measures, inspect condition of final grading and vegetative establishment.
  •  Prepare inspection reports with time/date stamped photos for submission to the Town.
  •  Assist the Town with compliance inspections if a site is found non-compliant or if complaints are made against a site.
  •  Attend project kick-off and close out meetings to ensure compliance with SWPPP regulations.
